After a 10-year interval, 11 patients who had undergone tonsillectomy performed in 1961 were examined by means of fiberoptic nasopharyngoscopy to evaluate the integrity of the nasopharyngeal mucosa. Six patients had a significant nasopharyngeal polyp. Seven other patients had some signs of inflammation of the nasopharyngeal mucosa but the disease was not considered serious. The study of the snouts of these latter patients reveals a more or less diffuse blue zone of submucosa and three plaques of epithelium and two of polypoid change. This abnormality is probably due to a chronic oedema of the nasopharyngeal mucosa after recurrent upper respiratory tract infections. It seems to be due to tonsillectomy in childhood and/or to an enlarged adenoid gland.Q:
trying to find the last 2 digits of a number using bc
So this is my first time using linux. I am working on a little project that requires me to find the last two digits of a number in bc (i.e. 612 should be 12)
this is what I have so far.
echo $number | bc
I know this is not working because it is not recognizing $number as a variable.
Can someone tell me what is going wrong?
Thank you!
A:
$ echo $number | bc
10
If you are trying to calculate the last two digits of $number, just use:
$ echo $number | cut -d. -f2
12
-d is the delimiter to use, -f is the field to cut (2nd field in this case)
If you want to do it in one command, try this:
$ echo $number | cut -d. -f1-2
Q:
Is it a good programming practice to run an if statement on all elements of an array?
Im working on a JavaScript game and I was wondering is there any reasons why I should run an if statement against each element be359ba680
